“Kokua” means to pull together and “help” in Hawaiian. Please check any and all areas you might be interested in. It won’t obligate you at this point, but it will let us know we have permission to contact you before we begin pulling each fundraiser together.

  • Rummage sales
             receiving and sorting donations, finding locations for sales (spring and summer 2010).
  • OVHSEC Cookbook
             gathering recipes from parents, staff, alumni, and students; assembling cookbook (ASAP).

  • Practice-A-Thon
             assistance with establishing web-based donations for friends/ family to sponsor students
             for practice hours logged over Christmas break (December 2009, December 2010).
  • Corporate Sponsors
             outreach to corporate sponsors and neighborhood vendors (ongoing).
  • Business Advertisements in Christmas and Spring Concert programs
             preparation of programs (December 2009, May 2010, December 2010).
  • Flower Lei Orders
             Help coordinate student orders and communicate with vendor in Hawai’i.
             Receive lei’s and distribute (Graduation - June 2010).

  • Restaurant fundraiser nights
             Determine local restaurants which will hold dedicated fundraiser nights where a portion of the
             evening’s proceeds go to OVHSEC; advertise to student body (ongoing).

  • Coordinate jazz and/or concert band performances (for tips) at local venue
             (e.g. Bella Terra, Westminster Mall) (various dates during school year).
